I prefer to use exotic woods for my knife handles, but fuctionality and cost often drive me towards using micarta and other composite materials for my knife handles.

Exotic Woods

Snakewood.

This is a block of snakewood that I purchased. I've quarter sawn the piece and am waiting for it to finish cracking and drying before use. This will make several magnificent knife hangles
